Thanks for stopping by! I’m an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department at Fort Lewis College in beautiful Durango, Colorado. My teaching and research focuses on many aspects of the interactions between political elites and voters, particularly regarding the uses of emotional appeals and the dynamics of ideological thinking. In my dissertation and the continuing project I examine the emotional foundations of support for both individual parties and the political system, honing in on outrage and disgust as key explanatory factors for democratic backsliding in Hungary and other democracies young and old. I recently completed my dissertation in the Political Science Department at the Ohio State University, and during my fieldwork in Budapest I have the honor and pleasure to work from the Political Science Department at Central European University.
